We are excited to announce that we are once again Cyber Essentials Certified. We were one of the first companies in our sector to have acquired Cyber Essentials status and pleased to once again to have regained our certification.
Launched in 2014, Cyber Essentials is a UK government information assurance scheme operated by the National Cyber Security Centre that encourages organisations to adopt good practice in information security.
Gaining this accreditation highlights our dedication to ensuring our systems and data are secure from cyber threats.
The Cyber Essentials scheme addresses the most common Internet-based threats to cyber security — particularly, attacks that use widely available tools.
The scheme considers these threats to be:
- Hacking — exploiting known vulnerabilities in Internet-connected devices, using widely available tools and techniques
- Phishing — and other ways of tricking users into installing or executing a malicious application
- Password guessing — manual or automated attempts to log on from the Internet, by guessing passwords
Adam Queripel, IT Director at Marketscan, said: “Our Cyber Essentials accreditation is great news for Marketscan. By having this certification, we can reassure our clients that we are working to secure our IT and data against a cyber-attack. We are one of the first in our sector to have been awarded this certification, so it is certainly something for us to be proud about and we are pleased to have reached the standard again for another year.”
